4th of July Rag Wreath

4th of July Rag Wreath DIY Project

4th of July Rag Wreath

So I saw this rag wreath online and thought it looked so adorable. I love the country look and feel it gives off. This wreath can be put together with old items you have at home or you can buy the material and wire circle at the craft store.

Now when shopping for fabric I shopped the clearance and since this was for the 4th of July I stayed with the patriotic colors except I love the burlap look so I chose that for my white. So lets begin this craft.

Materials You Will Need

  • Closet Hanger
  • Needle Nose Plyers
  • Scissors
  • 3 Types of Material

Step 1

I had an old close hanger in my closet and since I was not sure how this would turn out I tired it with the hanger first. Turns out it worked great and cost me nothing to make. I undid the close hanger and made it into the shape of a circle. I did have to use needle nose plyers to twist the circle together.

Step 2

Next I took my 3 different fabrics I had and cut them in strips of about 1 inch thick. You want to make the strips long enough to tie in a knot on the wire.

Step 3

Then I tied each strip of material in a knot on the wire of the wreath. You will want to make sure you are pushing the strips together as I made my way around the wreath. This will give you a more full look.

After all my ribbon was applied around the wire I flipped it over and my wreath was ready to hang. I love the simplicity of this wreath. You can make this for any season and add just about anything to the front of it.
